iPhone and iPad users are now receiving the iOS 14.4.1 and iPadOS 14.4.1 public build. It is a small upgrade over iOS 14.4 and iPadOS 14.4. Apple is already testing out the major updates which are iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5, but it will take time for the public release. But it’s already been more than a month since the last public release of iOS 14.4. And finally, today Apple rolls out iOS 14.4.1 and iPadOS 14.4.1 with some bug fixes.
Apple is known for regular updates and users get updates weekly including beta updates. This is one of the main reasons why users prefer iOS over Android. And along with iOS 14.4.1 & iPadOS 14.4.1, Apple also released watchOS 7.3.2 & macOS 11.2.3 updates. Now coming back to iOS 14.4.1 & iPadOS 14.4.1 updates, both are available for supported iPhones & iPads respectively.
Both iOS 14.4.1 and iPadOS 14.4.1 updates are available with build version 18D61. It is a small update that comes with bug fixes. And if we talk about the update size, then it weighs around 150MB which can vary according to the iDevice you have.
The update includes an important security update that fixes the WebKit threat available in iOS 14.4. It is an important update that is already available to all users who are using iOS 14.4 or iPadOS 14.4. Below you can check the exact changelog given by Apple.

Download and Install iOS 14.4.1 and iPadOS 14.4.1
As you know the public build update goes live immediately for all the users. And also, both updates are available for all iPhones and iPads running iOS 14 or iPadOS 14. So, if your iPhone or iPad running on iOS 14+ or iPadOS 14+, then you must have already got the update.
For some reason, if you don’t get the update notification, then you can manually check for it by going to Settings > Software Update. It will show the latest update, then click on Download & Install button to update your iPhone or iPad.
And if you have installed a beta update on your iPhone or iPad then you will not receive the update. So, to update your phone while on beta, you need to remove the beta profile. You can find the steps below.
How to Remove Beta Profile from iPhone and iPad
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
- Go to General and then Profile.
- Now it will show the Beta profile installed on your iPhone or iPad.
- Click on the available beta profile.
- Then click on the Remove Profile button.
- If it asks for the passcode, then enter your device passcode and click the Remove button.
And if your iPhone/iPad running on a higher version, then you need to downgrade your Apple device. But it will remove all data from your iPhone. So, we don’t recommend downgrade unless you want to Jailbreak iPhone or iPad.
You can also install the updates manually with iTunes or Finder. You can use IPSW files if you are planning to install the update using your computer.
