Apple releases third Public Betas of iOS 16 and iPadOS 16

A day after the iOS 16 Developer Beta 5 update, iOS 16 Public Beta 3 is out now. This week Apple released both the updates before the expected date. And with every new beta release, we’re getting closer to the stable iOS 16 release, which is expected to arrive in September along with the iPhone 14 series.

The last beta update was released in the last week of July. And after a gap of a week, the new beta arrived yesterday with many new features and changes. This time the public beta has been released within a day of the developer beta release. So if you are a public beta tester then now you can update your iPhone to test the new changes.

iOS 16 Public Beta 3

The iOS 16 Public beta 3 and iPadOS 16 Beta 3 come with build number 20A5339d which is the same as iOS 16 developer beta 5 released yesterday. And so you can expect similar changes. The update weighs more than a GB but varies according to the device and the update you are coming from. This time Apple has not mentioned the beta number on the update page. I think from the next build there could be a beta number for developers and public beta testers alike.

Coming to changes, the iOS 16 Public Beta 3 includes similar changes as the iOS 16 Dev Beta 5. You can check all the changes on this page.

The iOS 16 Beta 5 is already available to developers and now it is also available to public beta testers as iOS 16 Public Beta 3. If you are on the iOS 16 Public Beta 2, then you can easily update your iPhone from Settings > General > Software Update. Before updating, make sure to take a backup of important data.

If you want to try out the iOS 16 Beta and iPadOS 16 Beta you can follow the detailed installation guide here. In case you want to downgrade, you can follow this guide.
