Apple releases third beta of watchOS 6.2.8 (Download Now)

Three weeks ago, Apple released watchOS 6.2.8 beta 2. Now the company has started seeding the third beta of watchOS 6.2.8 to developers. Along with the watchOS 6.2.8 Beta 3 Update, Apple also kicked off iOS 13.6 for iPhone and iPad. If you’re a developer, then you can access the latest build freely on your Apple Watch. Here’s how you can install and update your Apple Watch to watchOS 6.2.8 Beta 3 and get access to the new features.

The newer watchOS 6.2.8 Beta 3 (17U5559d) is now available for all supported devices. The latest build of watchOS weighs between 60-70MB download size. After updating to the beta, you cannot downgrade your Apple Watch to the previous stable build. The past two beta releases of watchOS 6.2.8 did not bring new features to the Apple Watch devices, but this is not the case with the latest watchOS 6.2.8 Beta 3 update.

In terms of features, the update brings ECG to more countries (this time it comes in India as well), the new Car Key API features are also available in this update, other than that the company improve WIFI issues, along with a bunch of system improvements. Here you can check the prerequisites, before updating your Apple Watch to watchOS 6.2.8 Beta 3.

Prerequisites:

  • Make sure that your Apple Watch is charged to at least 50% and connected to the charger.
  • Make sure that your iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi.
  • watchOS 6.2.8 beta certificate (you can get if from developer.apple.com and create a new profile on your iPhone)

Download watchOS 6.2.8 Beta 3 on your Apple Watch

If your Apple Watch sports watchOS 6, then you can download watchOS 6.2.8 beta 3 update on your Apple Watch. And if you’re a developer and your iPhone or iPad is running on the latest iOS 13.6.x/iPadOS 13.6.x, then you can update your watch easily to the latest update. Here are the steps.

  1. At first, open Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap on My Watch.
  3. Then click on General > Software Update Download and Install.
  4. Enter the password for confirmation.
  5. Tap on Agree to the terms and conditions.
  6. Once done, tap on install.

Now the watchOS 6.2.8 Beta 3 update will download and transfer to your Apple Watch. And after the completion of the installation process, your watch will restart. After rebooting, you can start using the latest watchOS 6.2.8 beta on your Apple Watch.
