Apple releases second beta of watchOS 8.7 for Apple Watch

Two weeks back, Apple originally started testing watchOS 8.7 on the Apple Watch. The firm has now kicked off the second beta of watchOS 8.7 to developers. The second beta comes before one week of the announcement of watchOS 9. It is an early build, still, we can expect new features and improvements with this incremental upgrade. Apple kicks off the new beta of watchOS 8.7 with a 19U5037d build number. The new beta build weighs around 132MB in size, you can quickly update your Apple Watch to the incremental second beta. As always, the update is available for all Apple Watch owners running on watchOS 8.

If you’re a developer, then you can freely download the new software on your Apple Watch, it will be available sooner to the public. Speaking of the features, for the time being, it’s not clear whether the second beta brings anything new to the Apple Watch or not. The recently released version brings ECG app support for Apple Watch Series 4 or later and Irregular heart rhythm notifications in Mexico.

If your device is running on the latest software, then you can easily sideload the new software on your Apple Watch. Here are the steps.

  1. At first, you need to login to Apple Developer Program website.
  2. Then, head over to the downloads.
  3. Tap on watchOS 8.7 beta 2 available under featured downloads. Then tap on the download button.
  4. Now install watchOS 8.7 beta 2 profile on your iPhone, then authorize the profile by going to Settings > General > Profiles.
  5. Now restart your iPhone.

If your Apple Watch is already running on the first beta of watchOS 8.7, then you’ll receive the new update over-the-air, while if you’re on a stable build, then here’s how you can join the beta.
