Earlier this month, Apple announced iOS 18 with so many new features. The company released its first developer beta on the same day. Many users who have installed iOS 18 might have already forgotten about iOS 17 betas. Yes, iOS 17 beta will continue just like last year. And iOS 17.6 Beta 1 is the latest release this week.
Since the iOS 18 beta is available, only a limited number of users will participate in iOS 17 beta updates. So if you are waiting for the iOS 18 public beta, you can continue testing iOS 17 betas.
Along with the iOS 17.6 Beta 1, Apple also released iPadOS 17.6 Beta 1, macOS Sonoma 14.6 Beta 1, watchOS 10.6 Beta 1, tvOS 17.6 Beta 1, macOS Monterey 12.7.6 RC, and visionOS 1.3 Beta 1.
The iOS 17.6 Beta 1 comes with build number 21G5052e. As usual the beta build number is same for iPadOS 17.6 as well. The update weighs 6.27GB in iPhone 12 and could vary by device and your current update.
As you already know, the iOS 18 beta is here with many new features, which means iOS 17 will continue to receive updates but with little to no new features. Therefore, we are not expecting any big new features in this update, but there will be some improvements.
I will check all the changes and once I have all the changes I will share them as a list.
If you have already upgraded to iOS 18, then you will not get the iOS 17.6 Beta 1. But if you are on iOS 17 build and opted for beta updates in Software Update settings, then you will receive it on your iPhone. Make sure to take a backup of your iPhone before installing the update.
