Apple Releases iOS 17.5 to the Public with new Pride Radiance Wallpapers

The new iOS 17.5 update is finally available to the Public packed with a couple of new features and improvements. Apple began testing iOS 17.5 in early April releasing a total of four beta updates and one Release Candidate build. The fifth big update in the iOS 17 lineup is available for iPhone Xr and newer iPhones.

Along with the iOS 17.5 update, the tech giant also released iPadOS 17.5, watchOS 10.5, tvOS 17.5, macOS Sonoma 14.5, macOS Ventura 13.6.7, macOS Monterey 12.7.5, and iOS 16.7.8. The new iPhone’s update comes with build number 21F79 which is the same as the build number for the Release Candidate.

The WWDC 24 event is fast approaching which means Apple will soon begin the iOS 18 developer beta testing. This will also impact the iOS 17 updates resulting in fewer new features, as the tech giant will be focusing on iOS 18 features.

Talking about features, the iOS 17.5 update brings new Pride Radiance Wallpapers, Apple News improvements, and more. Everything is the same as we mentioned in last week’s Release Candidate build. Here is the changelog.

Apple News

  • Offline mode in Apple News+ gives you access to the Today feed and News+ tab, even when you don’t have an internet connection
  • Quartiles is a new and original daily word game that is now available in Apple News+
  • Scoreboard in News+ Puzzles gives you access to new player data for Crossword, Mini Crossword and Quartiles, including stats and streaks

Tracking Notifications

  • Cross-Platform Tracking Detection delivers notifications to users if a compatible Bluetooth tracker they do not own is moving with them, regardless of what operating system the device is paired with

Since the iOS 17.5 update is available to the Public, everyone with the eligible iPhone will be receiving the update, if they haven’t already. In case you have already installed the iOS 17.5 release candidate, you will not receive the update since both share same build number.

But if you have only installed iOS 17.5 beta, then you can easily turn off the beta and the iOS 17.5 will appear immediately. To check for the update or turn off beta, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
