The fourth beta of iOS 16.6 and iPadOS 16.6 is now available for iPhones and iPads. After releasing the second iOS 17 beta last week, Apple has introduced a new beta for iOS 16.6 today. Although Apple is currently testing iOS 16.6 alongside iOS 17, significant changes are not expected in the final stages of the iOS 16 beta. However, users can anticipate some fixes and minor changes. Let’s explore more about the new iOS 16.6 Beta 4 update.
Apple will continue testing iOS 16 beta builds for the next few iOS 16 releases. It’s expected that the majority of people will want to switch to the iOS 17 beta once it is considered stable. However, for now, I would not recommend switching to the iOS 17 beta due to the chances of major bugs. If you are currently using the iOS 16.6 beta, you can continue with this new beta.
Along with iOS 16.6 Beta 4 and iPadOS 16.6 Beta 4, Apple also released watchOS 9.6 Beta 4, macOS Ventura 13.5 Beta 4, tvOS 16.6 Beta 4, macOS Monterey 12.6.8 RC4, and macOS Big Sur 11.7.9 RC 4. Both iOS 16.6 Beta 4 and iPadOS 16.6 Beta 4 come with build number 20G5058d. Both are small updates.
The iOS 16.6 Beta 4 doesnโt bring many changes at least in early impression. You can expect bug fixes and performance improvements. We will list the changes below once we find them.
The iOS 16.6 Beta 4 and iPadOS 16.6 Beta 4 are currently available to developers. But soon it will be available to Public beta testers as well. If you are on an iOS 16.6 beta, you will receive the fourth beta on your iPhone. The same goes for the iPad. To check for the update manually, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
