After a quiet last week, Apple has released the fourth beta of iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 for iPhones and iPads. This update is also to improve stability rather than new features. The beta update is available for all the supported iPhones and iPads with a beta profile installed in it. Here in this guide, we will share how you can install iOS 14 Beta 4 on iPhones and iPadOS 14 Beta 4 on iPads.
There is no new iOS 13.6 public update this week but we can see it in the next week. Coming back to the iOS 14 Beta 4 then it comes with some bug fixes and improved performance. So if you had a bad experience or facing stability issues in the third beta then expect better results in the iOS 14 Beta 4 and iPadOS 14 Beta 4.
Along with iOS 14 Beta 4 and iPadOS 14 Beta 4, Apple has also released watchOS 7 Beta 4 and tvOS 14 Beta 14. The iOS 14 Beta 4 update is available to all supported Apple devices and comes in different update sizes. It comes with Software Version 18A5342e. Now letโs check whatโs new and bug fixes that you are going to notice in the latest beta.
iOS 14 Beta 4 Update – Features and Bug Fixes
Modem Update:
After many updates, Apple pushes the new Modem version to some iPhones. So if you had Network related issues on your device then this beta update might fix it on your phone.
Widgets:
One of the main features of iOS 14 is the Widget. And Apple is improving it with every update by fixing known issues and adding more functions. With iOS 14 Beta 4, they fixed the weather widget which now shows live data. Also, they added a new Apple TV widget.
Earlier we didnโt have a choice to set any shortcut in the widget. But now we have the option to set most of the functions in the Widget. For this, you need to create a blank widget and then add any shortcut in the WIdget.
Exposure Notification:
It is a new feature in Beta 4 related to COVID 19 but similar to what you have seen in the past updates. By default it is disabled and if you want it to enable then you have to use an App that uses this function.
3D Touch Reactivated:
In the last update, 3D touch got removed and now it is activated again. So if it was deactivated on your iPhone then expect it to be working in this Beta 4 update.
Improved Search:
If you use the search option in the home screen to search for various apps and files but somehow not optimized as you want. Then you may like it in Beta 4, as it has a clean and interactive search option and looks better than the previous beta.ย
Uninstalling an App:
Uninstalling any App now gives a new option to move the app to the App Library or directly uninstall the app from your phone.
You can also expect better battery performance in the new iOS 14 Beta 4 and iPadOS 14 Beta 4.
