Apple releases iOS 14.7 Beta 3 and iPadOS 14.7 Beta 3 (& iOS 12.5.4)

Last week went to iOS 15 as we have seen its announcement, developer beta, and its further release time. Apple started this week with the iOS 14.7 Beta 3 and iPadOS 14.7 Beta 3. We may get the next iOS 15 developer beta this week but can’t be sure. Along with newer iPhones, Apple also released iOS 12.5.4 for older iPhones. Apple is all set for iOS 15 and already started the iOS 15 developer beta testing. But they will continue the iOS 14 updates until this fall when iOS 15 will be available to the public. iOS 14.7 Beta 3 is an incremental update majorly for the bug fixes. There aren’t many changes, but still an improvement over the last beta iOS 14.7 Beta 2.

Apple also releases watchOS 7.6 Beta 3, tvOS 14.7 Beta 3, macOS Big Sur 11.5 Beta 3 along with iOS 14.7 Beta 3, and iPadOS 14.7 Beta 3. The iOS 12.5.4 is also available for older iPhones with build number 16H50. Both iOS 14.7 Beta 3 and iPadOS 14.7 Beta 3 come with build number 18G5042c. iOS 14.7 Beta 3 update measures 300MB which can differ by iPhone model.

iOS 14.7 Beta 3 – What’s New

Talking about the changes in iOS 14.7 Beta 3, the important change you will notice is the modem firmware upgrade. So, if you have any issues in the last beta, then this update could fix the issue.

iOS 14.7 Beta 3 and iPadOS 14.7 Beta 3 updates are now available for developers. And public beta testers should get the update soon. The public beta for the last iOS 14.7 Beta 2 update was not made available because of the eSIM issue. But we can expect a public beta for the iOS 14.7 beta 3. If you are a beta tester testing the iOS 14.7 beta 2, then you will get the beta 3 update on your iPhone. You can also check for the update manually by going to Settings > Software Update.

In case if you are on the iOS 14.6 public build, then you need to install the beta profile to get new beta updates. For users with iOS 15 beta can downgrade their iPhones using IPSW to go back to iOS 14.6 and then install the iOS 14 beta profile. Once you install the beta profile, you will also get incremental beta updates. So, if you want to try new beta updates, you can install the beta profile with these steps.

Install iOS 14.7 Beta Profile and iPadOS 14.7 Beta Profile

  1. Go to the Apple Beta Software program site.
  2. Then scroll down a bit and click on Sign in if you have Apple ID.
  3. On the next page, select the correct OS for your devices like iOS 14 or iPadOS 14.
  4. Scroll down till Getting Started and click on Enroll your iOS device.
  5. Now you need to install a profile from the next Page. For this, click on the Download Profile.
  6. After installing the Profile, reboot your device. And you are ready to install iOS 14.7 beta 3 on your iPhone.

After installing the beta profile, you can go to Settings > Software Update to install the latest update on your iPhone or iPad. You can also install iOS 14.7 Beta 3 with the full IPSW file using Finder or iTunes.
