But after settling the previous updates, Apple now releases iOS 14.7 Beta 2 and iPadOS 14.7 Beta 2 for developers and public beta testers. As you all know WWDC 2021 is almost here where we get to see new launches from Apple. And most probably the highlight will be the iOS 15 and iPadOS 15. Both will be available only to developers after testing. But iOS 14.7 Beta will go on parallelly along with iOS 15 Beta updates. iOS 14.7 Beta 2 is a small update mainly for bugs and improvements.
Along with iOS 14.7 Beta 2 and iPadOS 14.7 Beta 2, Apple also releases watchOS 7.6 Beta 2, macOS Big Sur 11.5 Beta 2, and tvOS 14.7 Beta 2. Talking about the build number both iOS 14.7 Beta 2 and iPadOS 14.7 Beta 2 comes with the 18G5033e build. As you can see the build number went to e from c. It means we will be getting more beta updates before the public release of iOS 14.7. The update comes in at around 300-400MB depending on the device and last build.
iOS 14.7 Beta 2 – What’s New
As you know iOS 14.7 Beta 2 and iPadOS 14.7 Beta 2 are small incremental updates that address bugs from previous builds. So, you may not find new features in both updates. But you can expect fixes for bugs that you may be facing in beta 1 or other updates.
Some users reported issues regarding low battery performance and disturbance in the network. Second iOS 14.7 Beta and iPadOS 14.7 Beta comes with the updated firmware which means the network problem must be fixed.
The timer on Homepod app is also fixed, in Beta 1 text was overlapped. So, these are some small changes you get to notice in the latest updates.
Download iOS 14.7 Beta 2 & iPadOS 14.7 Beta 2
As usual iOS 14.7 Beta 2 and iPadOS 14.7 Beta 2 are available to developers at first. But soon it will be available for public beta testers. If you are a developer or public beta tester, you will receive the update directly on your supported iPhone and iPad. You can check for the update manually by going to Settings > Software Update. It will show the latest update, click on Download & Install button to get the update.
In case if you are still using the public build, then you will not receive the update on your iDevice. But in case if you want to try the beta updates then you can install the beta profile on your iPhone or iPad. You will also get the incremental beta updates after that. So, if you want to try new beta updates, you can install the beta profile with these steps.
Install iOS 14.7 Beta Profile and iPadOS 14.7 Beta Profile
- Go to the Apple Beta Software program site.
- Then scroll down a bit and click on Sign in if you have Apple ID.
- On the next page, select the correct OS for your devices like iOS 14 or iPadOS 14.
- Scroll down till Getting Started and click on Enroll your iOS device.
- Now you need to install a profile from the next Page. For this, click on the Download Profile.
- After installing the Profile, reboot your device. And you are ready to install iOS 14.7 beta 2 on your iPhone.
After installing the beta profile, you can go to Settings > Software Update to install the latest update on your iPhone or iPad. You can also install iOS 14.7 Beta 2 with the full IPSW file using Finder or iTunes.
