After getting two release candidates, the iOS 14.6 is finally available to the public. Apple releases both iOS 14.6 and iPadOS 14.6 for everyone with supported iPhones and iPads. It is available to the public just after three beta updates for testing unlike iOS 14.5. The first iOS 14.6 beta released at the end of last month which means the public build is available within just a month. Here you will know about the iOS 14.6 and iPadOS 14.6 updates.
iOS 14.6 and iPadOS 14.6 come with some notable changes that are important for coming features. Last week was unusual as we got to see three iOS updates and all three for beta testers only. iOS 14.6 RC, iOS 14.6 RC2 and also iOS 14.7 Beta 1. About a few weeks ago Apple mostly releases updates on Tuesday, but from the last few weeks, we are getting updates on Monday. Well, it doesnโt matter much if we are getting regular updates.
Apple releases tvOS 14.6, HomePod 14.6, watchOS 7.5, and macOS Big Sur 11.4 updates along with iOS 14.6 and iPadOS 14.6. Both iOS 14.6 and iPadOS 14.6 come with 18F72 which is the same build as the last release candidate build. Both updates come with many changes and features including the modem firmware upgrade. If you are already on a beta build, then you may not find a change in modem firmware. To know whatโs new in both updates, check out the changelog section.

Download & Install iOS 14.6 and iPadOS 14.6
As usual, the update will be available to everyone over the air. And as you know Apple doesn’t roll out updates in phases, so you can update your iPhone or iPad immediately. If you are on the last stable build iOS 14.5.1 or iOS 14.5, then you will directly get the update. To check for updates, go to Settings > Software Update. Now click on Download & Install button to get the latest update.
In case you have installed a beta profile on your iPhone or iPad for beta testing. Then you will not receive the update on your phone. In that case, you can remove the beta profile to get the latest stable iOS 14.6 update. But remember you will not receive beta updates unless you reinstall the beta profile.
How to Remove Beta Profile from iPhone and iPad
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
- Go to General and then Profile.
- Now it will show the Beta profile installed on your iPhone or iPad.
- Click on the available beta profile.
- Then click on the Remove Profile button.
- If it asks for the passcode, then enter your device passcode and click the Remove button.
And if your iPhone/iPad running a higher version, then you need to downgrade your Apple device. But it will remove all data from your iPhone. So, we don’t recommend downgrade unless you want to Jailbreak iPhone or iPad.
