Apple released iOS 14.2 Beta 1 for Developers with a slew of UI Changes

This week has been the week for Apple as they have released many products and software updates. And the biggest highlight of the week is the release of the public stable version of iOS 14. In three consecutive days, Apple has released three updates including iOS 14 GM, iOS 14 Final, and today they released iOS 14.2 Beta 1, especially for Developers. iOS 14 comes with a lot of new UI changes and features with improved performance. If you own a device released after iPhone 6 then you might already have received the iOS 14 Public Stable version. Lockscreen – In this beta update you will find a slight change in the Music Playback UI. It looks more anticipated. The album art is big and controls are bigger than what is already available on iOS 14.

Music Player – The next is also related to the Music player. In iOS 14.2 Beta 1, if you click on the AirPlay icon then the UI will be a different one. Also if you long tap on the Music Area in the control center then it will open a bigger Music Playback interface.

But if you have a Developer account then the process is all easy. If you want the new update, then you need to install the beta profile of iOS 14.2 beta 1 and iPadOS 14.2 beta 1 on your iPhone or iPad. Here’s how you can get it on your iPhone or iPad.

  1. Go to the Apple Beta Software program site.
  2. Then scroll down a bit and click on Sign in if you have Apple ID (developer account).
  3. On the next page, select the correct OS for your devices like iOS 14.2 or iPadOS 14.2.
  4. Scroll down till Getting Started and click on Enroll your iOS device.
  5. Now you need to install a profile from the next Page. For this, click on the Download Profile.
  6. After installing the Profile, reboot your device. And you are ready to install iOS 14.2 on your iPhone.

After installing the beta profile, you can go to Settings > Software Update to install the latest update on your iPhone or iPad.
