New week, and a new update from Apple for iPhone. Apple has re-released iOS 17.6.1 to users who are still on iOS 17.5.1 or older. This update is more like a drama and it seems that Apple did not plan this update properly. Users are not happy with Apple’s decision for re-releasing iOS 17.6.1.

This update is only available to users who haven’t updated to iOS 17.6.1. The update is not available over the air, which means you won’t see the update if you look for it manually in the Software update settings. It will only appear if you connect your iPhone to your Mac or Windows and check in Finder/iTunes.

Another option to install the iOS 17.6.1 re-release is to sideload the IPSW. Since this is creating a lot of confusion, users are not happy with Apple.

The update is not important for many users as it only comes with a couple of small changes.

  • Fixes Apple Fitness+ access issue
  • Fixes turning on and off Advanced data protection

iOS 17.6.1 re-release comes with build number 21G101. Today, Apple has also released some other updates that include watchOS 10.6.1 and tvOS 17.6.1. The next big Apple event is also fast approaching, so stay tuned for interesting reveals and news.
