Last month, Apple started testing the watchOS 9.4 on the supported devices. Today, the company has released the incremental beta to developers for testing. watchOS 9.4 third beta comes one week after the release of the second beta. Apple is pushing the new software to the supported Apple Watches with a 20T5239f build number. The incremental build weighs 475MB in size, which is approx. 100MB more than the second beta. This size bump hints at some refinements and fixes. If you are a developer then you can freely upgrade your Apple Watch to the watchOS 9.4 beta, it is available for both developers and public beta testers.
For compatibility, Apple Watch Series 4 and newer model owners can upgrade their watch to the new software. Just like the previous beta updates, Apple didn’t share any information about changes in the release notes, but you can expect new features and enhancements with this update. Here’s how you can update your Apple Watch to watchOS 9.4 beta.
watchOS 9.4 third beta update
If your iPhone is running on the latest iOS 16.4 third beta, then you can easily update your Apple Watch to the new watchOS 9.4 beta 3, all you need to do is, install the beta profile on your device and then update it over the air. Here’s how you can update your watch to the beta.
- At first, you need to login to Apple Developer Program website.
- Then, head over to the downloads.
- Tap on watchOS 9.4 beta 3 available under featured downloads. Then tap on the download button.
- Now install watchOS 9.4 beta 3 profile on your iPhone, then authorize the profile by going to Settings > General > Profiles.
- Now restart your iPhone.
Make sure that your Apple Watch is charged at least 50% and connected to a WiFi network. After installing the beta profile, open the Apple Watch app on your phone, head over to General > Software Update > Download and Install, then install the new software.
Now the watchOS 9.4 beta 3 update will download and transfer to your Apple Watch. And after the completion of the installation process, your watch will restart. Once all done, you can start using your Apple Watch.
