Apple kicks off the second developer beta of watchOS 11

As anticipated, Apple has dropped the second beta of watchOS 11 for developers for testing purposes. The incremental upgrade comes two weeks after the first beta was announced at Apple’s annual developer summit. watchOS 11 is one of the biggest upgrades, featuring features like the Vitals app, Training Load, Live Activities, and more.

Apple pushes the watchOS 11 beta 2 to eligible watches with a 22R5299d build number. This update is currently available to developers, with the public beta expected to be released next month. In terms of availability, the update is limited to Apple Watch Series 6 and newer models.

In terms of features and changes, watchOS 11 boasts a bunch of useful features including automatic sleep detection, revamped Photos Watch Face, an all-new Vitals app, Training Load, Live activities support for Smart Stack, a Translate app with 20 languages support, and many more.

If your iPhone or iPad is running on the latest version of iOS 18 developer beta, then you can easily sideload the watchOS 11 beta 2 on your Watch.

  1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap General > Software Update.
  3. Select Beta Updates and enable watchOS 11 Developer Beta option.
  4. Go back and download the second beta of watchOS 11.
  5. Thatโ€™s it.

Make sure that your Apple Watch is charged at least 50% and connected to a WiFi network.

Now the watchOS 11 second beta update will download and transfer to your Apple Watch. And after the completion of the installation process, your watch will restart. Once all done, you can start using your Apple Watch.
