While there are many privacy features integrated on Android phones to keep user data and device safe, but there are no concrete features that keeps the device safe even after theft. But now it seems that theft protection centric features are rolling out, which include three new security features.
The Android theft protection features were rolled out to Android users in Brazil a few months ago. And the trio of features are now rolling out to more regions, possibly all eligible regions. There are three new features to protect the device after theft, it include Theft Detection Lock, Offline Device Lock, and Remote Lock.

The rollout was first spotted by Android expert Mishaal Rahman, and confirmed by Android Authority team and many users. Some users have all three features available on their phones, while some has one or two features. On my Samsung Galaxy S23, only the Remote Lock feature is available as of now.
So it is possible that these features are being rolled out separately and not in a pack. If these are not available on your phone, expect them to arrive on your phone soon.
Now letโs understand what these features do:ย
Theft Detection Lock: The device screen will lock if the setting detects that someone took your phone and ran away.
Offline Device Lock: The screen will lock shortly after your device goes offline to help protect your data.
Remote Lock: If your device is stolen, you can lock it’s screen with just a phone number at android.com/lock
These three are important security features that every device should have. Fortunately the Theft detection trio will be available on majority of the Android devices. You don’t have to do anything to get these features, as they will be automatically added to your device.
How many features you have got on your phone of these three? Let us know in the comments.
