Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1.1 addresses unresponsive navigation buttons

Google pushes a minor update to Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1. The Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1.1 update is now available for Pixel 6 and newer models. You need to be part of the beta program to get this new beta update.

Google began the Android 16-based QPR Beta in the latter half of last month. This QPR Beta will be released to the public as the first Android 16-based Pixel Feature Drop, which could arrive by the end of September.

The Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1.1 is available with build number BP31.250502.008.A1 and is still based on the May security patch. Since this is a minor bug fix update, it weighs less than a GB.

This first minor update to Android 16 QPR1 Beta addresses a bunch of issues, such as unresponsive navigation buttons in some scenarios, unexpected crashes, color grading issue and more. Here is the official changelog that comes with the minor update.

  • Fixed an issue where the navigation buttons would become unresponsive in the app drawer or task switcher
  • Fixed an issue where the progress bar in the media player on the lock screen doesn’t reflect the place in media
  • Fixed a crash when trying to open effects in wallpaper
  • Fixed an issue where the settings app would crash after trying to open the battery menu
  • Fixed an issue where the lock screen date could get cut off when using a wide clock style
  • Fixed an issue where the search button has a different color when scrolling
  • Fixed an issue where the approve button in Device Admin settings is missing
  • Fixed an issue where dark album labels appeared in the photo picker when in dark mode, impacting readability
  • Fixed an issue where the date wasn’t appearing on the homescreen
  • Fixed a fingerprint authentication failure on a multi-user Android device in certain low-power conditions

If you own an eligible Pixel phone and have enrolled in the beta program or installed the QPR1 Beta, the minor update will be available on your device through OTA. You can manually check for the update in System Settings.

You can also manually install the latest beta through a full factory image or an OTA image. But first make sure to backup important data.
