Android 16 Beta 3 now available for OnePlus 13

OnePlus has just dropped the third beta of Android 16 for OnePlus 13. The new beta comes out a week before the Google I/O, where the tech giant will officially showcase the changes coming with the next version of Android. Additionally, Google may also roll out a more stable incremental beta of Android 16 for Pixel devices.

If you’re a developer or in a hurry to try the new features available on Android 16, you can sideload the third beta on your OnePlus 13. Similar to the second beta, the update is available in all regions except the carrier-locked models from T-Mobile or Verizon.

If you want to try out the Android 16 beta 3 on your OnePlus 13, please ensure that your phone is running on 15.0.0.703 or below; if you’re on a newer version, you’ll need to downgrade first.

This build is intended for developers and advanced users.

OnePlus

Though the testing reached the third phase, it remains a closed beta upgrade intended for developers and does not recommend installing it on your primary device, especially if you’re unfamiliar with sideloading or flashing ROMs. You can see the list of known issues available on the third beta.

  • Certain system applications and settings may encounter issues, such as crashes, unresponsiveness and etc.
  • Issues such as black screen may occur during camera usage in certain scenarios.
  • There is no sound when connecting to other devices to play audio or video in certain scenarios.
  • Message notifications display abnormally in certain scenarios.
  • There are some compatibility issues with third-party apps.

If you’re using OnePlus 13 as a secondary device and want to try out the Android 16 beta, you can sideload the latest beta, but ensure your phone is charged at least 30% and has at least 4GB of free space. Also, please take a backup of important data, as there’s a risk of bricking the device.

How to Update to Android 16 Beta 3?

OnePlus 13 users need to manually sideload the update via the local update method; the method is different for NA and EU / IN variants. You can follow the step-by-step guide shared by OnePlus, they also listed the downgrade builds.
