Sony kick-started its Android 15 journey two months back with the Xperia 1 VI. Just like last year, the company took two additional months to extend the update’s availability to the previous-generation flagship smartphone, the Xperia 1 V.
Needless to say, the Android 15 update for Sony Xperia 1 V is rolling with a slew of new features and optimizations. Sony has officially confirmed the rollout through its UK support page, as per the details, the update carries 67.2.A.2.41 version number.
Several Xperia 1 V users have received the update. The update is currently seeding to Germany, Sweden, and other regions of Europe. I am attaching a screenshot shared by Reddit user NoBarracuda1410. The device was launched with Android 13 and this is the second major OS upgrade. It weighs around 1GB in download size.
Sony Xperia 1 V Android 15 update brings features like the option to change screen resolution, Private Space, Better Screen Contrast Accessibility option, Partial Screen Sharing, Earthquake alert system, Offline maps for Wear OS, App Archiving, and more.
If you own Sony Xperia 1 V, the update can arrive anytime. Please ensure your phone is running the latest available software upgrade. The update will be available over the air. So make sure to check for update regularly.
You can check for the update in Settings > About Phone > Software Update > check for the new updates. Once the update is available, create a backup and charge your phone to at least 50% before updating the device.
