Android 14 starts rolling out to the Motorola Edge 40 Pro

Motorola Edge 40 Pro is the latest smartphone joining the Android 14 club. The company kick-started its Android 14 rollout campaign last month with Moto G53 and later expanded to Moto Edge+ 2023. Now is the time for another premium smartphone, Moto Edge 40 Pro.

Android 14 update for Edge 40 Pro is seeding with U1TR34.88-30-13 software version number. At the time of writing, the over-the-air update is rolling out in Finland, a broader rollout should commence in a matter of time.

Android 14 is the first ever big software upgrade for the smartphone, which also means, it requires a huge amount of data for downloading. According to the Edge 40 Pro user (u/mr_delicious) on Reddit, the update weighs 2.33GB in download size. Make sure you have enough storage to install the anticipated update.

In terms of changes, the Android 14 update for Moto Edge 40 Pro 2023 comes with a slew of useful features including lock screen customizations, monochrome themes with more color options, use your phone as a webcam, a new battery settings page, and even bigger fonts, improved privacy and security, and more.

If you own a Motorola Edge 40 Pro and reside in Finland, then you can now upgrade your phone to Android 14 by navigating to Settings > System updates > Check for updates. The update is currently rolling out in a staged manner and will be available to everyone in the coming days, you can wait if the update is not visible on your device.

Make sure to take a backup before updating your phone. Also, charge your phone to at least 50% before updating the device.
