Last month, Realme originally started testing Android 13 on two of its number series phones – Realme 9 Pro 5G and Realme 9 Pro+ 5G. Initially, the update is available to select users through the closed beta program. Today, the company has expanded the availability of the new Android 13 upgrade to more users with an open beta program. If you own a Realme 9 Pro or 9 Pro+ 5G then you can now join the open beta program to try out the new features available on the company’s latest Android 13 based Realme UI 4.0 skin, read along to know more details.

One of the best things about Realme updates is, they have been confirmed officially on the company’s community forum with all prerequisites and other details. This time, the forum post hints that the new build goes live for the Realme 9 Pro users running on any of these builds – RMX3471_11_A.42, RMX3471_11_A.43, RMX3471_11_A.44, RMX3471_11_A.45. If you own the Realme 9 Pro+ 5G, then your smartphone needs to be running on any of these builds – RMX3392_11.A.12, RMX3392_11.A.13, RMX3392_11.A.14. In case your phone is running on the older version, then you can upgrade it to the new software easily.

Both phones were released with Realme UI 3.0 and Android 12 and are all set to receive the first major software upgrade. Obviously, the stable build will be released in the coming days, but if you are in a hurry and want to try out the new features, then you can now upgrade your phone to the open beta build. If you are planning to update to the open beta, then make sure you have enough data for downloading the update. As it is a major upgrade, it requires a big chunk of data for downloading.

Now moving to the changes, then this time Realme didn’t mention anything new in its forum post. Realme is pushing the new Android 13 upgrade to its phones with these features – new aquamorphic design elements, more new color palettes, new Quantum Engine 4.0, optimized font for better readability, optimized widget design, large folders for the home screen, new editing tools for the screenshot, Bitmoji support for AOD, improved Hyperboost GPA 4.0 for gaming, and more.

Now if you own the Realme 9 Pro or 9 Pro+ 5G and want to update to the Android 13 open beta build, then go to the Software Update in Settings and tap on the gear icon at the top right corner, then select Trial version, choose open beta and enter the required details.

Make sure to take a backup of important data before updating your device to the new software. Also, charge your device to at least 50%. You can also roll back to Android 12 stable version in the future if you want, the steps are listed on Realme’s community forum post.
