Android 12 based ColorOS 12 beta now available for Oppo F17 and A73

Last month, Oppo kicked off the stable version of Android 12 based ColorOS 12 for the Oppo F17 Pro. Now the company has started recruiting the vanilla Oppo F17 and Oppo A73 owners to try out the ColorOS 12. Obviously, the update comes with all the new features available on Oppo’s newest custom skin. If you own any of the two Oppo phones and want to taste the new features, then read along to know how to get ColorOS 12 beta access on Oppo F17 and Oppo A73.

Before moving ahead, just want to mention, that Oppo has officially shared the information for the beta testing program on its community forum. And as per the information, there are 5,000 slots in the program, anyone can join the program. If you’re using the Oppo F17 and reside in India, then you can join the beta program, and make sure that your smartphone is updated to C.19 software version. If you live in Vietnam and own the Oppo A73 then your smartphone needs to be running on C.19 build number, also make sure that your smartphone has at least 5GB of free space.

Moving to the features, then the Oppo F17 and A73 ColorOS 12 update brings features like the new inclusive design, 3D textured icons, adopts Android 12-based widgets, new features for AOD, new privacy controls, and many other features. Apart from these changes, we can expect updated security patch levels and more stability across the system.

Now let’s take a look at how to join the ColorOS 12 beta program on Oppo F17 and Oppo A73. Before moving ahead just want to tell you that beta builds are not good for daily use, I suggest you to try it on your secondary/separate phone.

  1. First, Open the Settings app.
  2. Now head over to the Software update and click on the gear icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Now you’ll see a trial program option, tap on it.
  4. Enter the required details in the forum shared by the company.
  5. That’s it.

Now your application has been submitted successfully if there’s an empty slot (5,000 seats) in the beta program, then you’ll receive the update within 3 days. Also, make sure to charge your phone to at least 50%.
